The phenomenally talented Hlubi Mboya has just been appointed the ambassador of Lemar skin range.

Arguably one of the most beautiful actresses on South African television today, Mboya is extremely excited about her appointment.

Talking about this major confidence-booster, the Isidingo actress said: "I was pleasantly surprised when a publicist from Lemar called to say I had a glowing skin and a glowing personality so they had identified me as one of their ambassadors.

"I thought it was wonderful. I was so excited. I spoke to people, including my mom and my sister, Kuli Roberts, who have used the product."

She said that if Hollywood and superstars like Jennifer Lopez swore by it, then that meant it was a wonderful product.

An ambassador, Mboya said, not only uses the product but also talks about it to promote it.

"Hopefully if people love the way my skin looks they will believe in the product," she saidt.

Mboya, who plays the role of Nandipha, a television anchor with full-blown Aids, in the popular SABC3 soapie Isidingo has captivated the nation and the world's hearts.

Nandipha is HIV-positive after being raped by a jealous, jilted convict who does not want to see her happy. He has this warped idea that Nandipha is his sole property, to be used and discarded at will.

The dilemma the former kitchen maid faced was her budding relationship with Parsons Matabane.

After a long soul-searching period characterised by varying emotions, Nandipha finally blurted out the heart-wrenching truth to Matabane.

True to movie scripts, her former criminal boyfriend was arrested. But the most romantic of all was that her beau was understanding about this terrible episode in her life, and Matabane asked for her hand in marriage.

The character of Nandipha took viewers through the challenges faced by people with HIV and Aids.

When Sowetan unfolded the story the foreign media, from the UK, Europe and the US, were touched. They clamoured to interview Mboya, making her the only local actress to receive international recognition for her character.

Her dark, beautiful and blemish-free skin needs no boost from the miracle cream. But Mboya hopes the association will be of mutual benefit.
