Rabbits yen for United munching

The sun is gradually setting for Maritzburg United who host the enterprising Benoni Premier United in a Castle Premiership game at Harry Gwala Stadium tonight.

United are positioned second from the bottom of the log and have to win their remaining matches if they harbour hopes of remaining in the league.

Although their media officer, Senzo Msimang, believes that they will stave off the relegation axe, chances are slim because every side is gunning for a better and respectable position on the log.

That United have played 22 games and collected 18 points is an indication that they are strong candidates for the Mvela Golden League.

"I agree that we're in a precarious position on the log, but goals elude us," said Msimang.

"We're left with four games at home and four away. Our aim is to win all at home to be on the safe side."

United will rely on Cavann Sibeko, Lynch Pule and David Mogale.

Benoni general manager Sam Ngobeni said they were equally in an unenviable situation.

"We're on a mission to conquer the Natal province and we're going to collect the three points."
