Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
Accomplished boxing manager Mzimase Mnguni, who doubles as a promoter, will stage the third encounter between antagonists Zolile Mbityi and Simon Ramoni tomorrow.
The venue for the two battle-scarred combatants is the Orient Theatre in East London. They fought on November 6 2003 and on September 1 last year,
Ramoni outpointed Mbityi over six rounds in their first fight at Wembley Arena, Johannesburg, but he was dethroned of his South African junior bantamweight crown in their second meeting at Nasrec Arena.
"Bonecrusher" rose from the dead to overshadow Ramoni in that fight.
Mbityi had been written off after failing to overwhelm Lee Haskins for the Commonwealth belt in England on April 7 last year.
Haskins is a 23-year-old novice. For the record, he was badly beaten by Tshifhiwa Munyai who stopped him in six rounds on November 6 last year.
Mbityi, 36, is a veteran of 28 wins, 13 losses and three draws.
He will enjoy home advantage over the "Cheetah" from Gauteng.
Ramoni has 27 wins and eight defeats
The rematch, which will top Eyethu Boxing Promotion's bill, has been dubbed the "Unfinished Story".
