l The minimum requirement to become a quality assurance manager is a three-year production management diploma or equivalent, depending on the field entered, according to Edcon's group executive manager of quality assurance Noel Paulson.

l "Quality management would form part of this qualification. If the candidate has no industry experience then they would join as an assistant and would be required to successfully complete 11 modules, which we have set up, before being appointed as a technologist," Paulson says.
