Philadelphia still going strong

Riot Hlatshwayo

The Limpopo-based church, Philadelphia Fire Centre, which boasts about 2000 members, celebrated its 23rd anniversary in Giyani yesterday.

Church members from its various branches including Mapuve, Makgakgabaji, Mninginisi, Nhlaniki, Majozi and several others congregated at the church's main branch at Giyani Section E for the celebrations.

Pastor VW Madzinge of the Thohoyandou-based Christian Worship Centre, who was also the guest speaker, chose as his main theme: "Philadelphia, be strong and have no fear".

Church spokesman, Thandi Mabesa, said the church would concentrate on the life experiences of various individuals.

"We look into the various experiences which range from being a child to adulthood because these are some of the experiences and stages that God has offered us in life," said Mabesa.
