Tony de Nobrega, Bloemfontein Celtic coach, is not ruling out Phunya Selesele's chances of faring well in the Absa Cup this season.
Celtic are through to the second round of the "Cup of Dreams" after they walloped minnows Mighty FC 4-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
Petros Mahlatsi scored a hat-trick and Ntokozo Sikhahane struck another goal.
"It is important for us to do well in this competition as this will motivate the players in the league campaign," said De Nobrega.
"The match on Saturday offered me an opportunity to give players who are not playing regularly a chance and I was happy with their performance."
Reagan Noble made his debut for Celtic on Saturday.
Mighty Tjale, Mighty FC owner-coach, believes they lost the match because they respected Celtic.
"We allowed them to dictate terms to us and the stage was also [too] big for my players," Tjale said. "But playing a big team like Celtic has inspired us and we will ensure that we qualify for the playoffs of the Vodacom Promotional League this season, " he added.
