Mpume Ngcobo, whose 17-year-old daughter, Khanyisile, went missing in April, has not given up hope of finding her child alive.

The matriculant from Durban's Wentworth High School was reportedly abducted by a group of men on April 17.

Ngcobo consulted a traditional healer in December.

"He assured me that she would show up after two months and that she was still alive. I have been using the muti he gave me.

"But she has not shown up and now I don't know what to do."

Ngcobo received a phone call from Khanyisile, who said she had been kidnapped, in October.

"We traced the number and a girl said she saw Khanyisile at a party in Umlazi and secretly allowed her to make a call to me. But we couldn't find her anywhere," Ngcobo said.

After Sowetan ran Khanyisile's story, the police arrested Sibusiso Nkosi, 29. He appeared in court yesterday and the trial was postponed indefinitely.
