Mpumalanga Boxing Organisation (Mpabo) president Jan van Vuuren will not stand for elections tomorrow when the organisation holds its yearly general meeting at the Rack Reys Inn in Secunda.
Van Vuuren said his decision is prompted by the fact his call to divide the province's boxing management into three regions was ignored.
"For the past four years as president, I had been proposing for merging management in the three regions of the province. It is not good for boxing to have one office to cater for the whole province," said Van Vuuren.
The Mpabo office is based in Secunda, under the Gert Sibande region.
But Van Vuuren said he wants other offices to be established in Nkangala and Ehlanzeni.
Wonder Mhlongo of Mpabo said: "Each club is expected to send two delegates. Registration is R50 per club."
The meeting is scheduled to start at 10am.
