The investigation into the fall from a third floor balcony at a school and subsequent death of the six-year-old pupil has been completed.

Gauteng Education Department spokesman Panyaza Lesufi said the results of the investigation have been sent to the MEC for education Angie Motshekga.

"Once the MEC has studied the outcome then we will be able to comment," he said.

Lesufi said the findings would be made public early next week.

Mpho Kekana from Liliba in Tembisa fell - allegedly after having been pushed by another pupil - from the third floor of the Global College Primary building on Wednesday last week.

Asked about the safety of pupils at the school, director, Johan van der Walt, said there had not been problems before. - Mfundekelwa Mkhulisi
