Mongezi Samuel Jinxela, the man accused of raping 65 women, has claimed one of his alleged victims lied about being raped. He says they had consensual sex.
Advocate Harold Knopp told the Johannesburg high court on Friday that his client would say that the 24-year-old woman was his girlfriend.
Jinxela, 38, of Meadowlands, Soweto, is alleged to have gained the trust of his victims by promising them jobs.
Instead of taking them to work, he allegedly took the women to the veld, where he raped them, some more than once, before fleeing.
