A warrant of arrest has been issued for Bidvest Wits striker Abraham Raselemane for failing to appear at the Selosesha maintenance court in Thaba Nchu, Free State.

Raselemane failed to appear in court last week in connection with maintenance payments for his son, Kamogelo Tsie, 7. He is said to be in arrears totalling R3900.

According to the investigating officer, the warrant was issued on Friday.

Kamogelo is the son of Raselemane's former lover and schoolmate, Tsabeng Tsie. Tsie, a nurse, said an agreement was reached between her and Raselemane for him to pay R500 monthly for the maintenance of Kamogelo. He also had to pay an additional R1300 quarterly for the boy's education. But Tsie said the soccer star has not honoured the agreement.

"In the beginning he was very supportive, but with time he stopped paying and told me to also contribute because I was working," said Tsie.

"I cannot manage alone. All I am asking for is that he pays for his son's education."

Raselemane who was signed on a record fee of R1,3million from Supersport United to Wits, is said have also stopped visiting his son.

Said Tsie: "We always hear that he was around driving in his expensive car."

Attempts to contact Raselemane for comment were unsuccessful.
