The finals of the Ekurhuleni East District School Sports' primary track and field championships takes place in Nigel from 8am to 4pm today.
Also today, the Ekurhuleni West School Sports will continue with its clusters in track and field stages at Germiston.
Meanwhile, athletics events also started at circuit level in Limpopo last week to mark the start of the 2007 programme of the local Provincial Coordinating Committee for Schools Sport.
A total of 2 698 primary and high schools took part at various venues around the province.
One-hundred-and-fifty high schools and 100 primary institutions managed to win the circuit events and will now compete at the cluster level from tomorrow until Sunday.
Competition is expected to be stiff.
