A 64-year-old man, on the run for 17 days after allegedly shooting dead his teenage lover, was found at her graveside, the Cape high court heard yesterday.

A 64-year-old man, on the run for 17 days after allegedly shooting dead his teenage lover, was found at her graveside, the Cape high court heard yesterday.

Moegamat Saiat Patrick has pleaded not guilty before Acting Judge John Riley and assessors Wessel Marais and Wilhemina Swanepoel to murder, statutory rape and the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

According to prosecutor Penelope Magona, the dead girl, Bernadete Kuboni, ran away from home at the age of 13 to live with Patrick.

He is alleged to have shot her dead on New Year's Day in 2005.- Sapa
