The Bojanala Softball League is back in full swing after the absence of some clubs caused glitches in the normal running of the league.

Teams from tertiary institutions affiliated to the league were not part of the first games that took place in Atteridgeville two weeks ago because students had not yet arrived for the new term.

The next games, hosted by Unicorns, will be held at the Mamelodi East diamond on Sunday and all nine teams are expected to honor the fixtures.

"We expect play to be competitive because the clubs know we will be choosing the squad that will represent us at the Softball South Africa Championships in Limpopo next month," said the league's deputy president, Trevor Mogale.

"All the teams are prepared to go the extra mile for that. We still have two sets of games and the squad should be final by the end of the month."

The race should be between TUT Rand and the Hurricanes.
