The strike at the Modikwa platinum mine in Limpopo continued yesterday , the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) said.
Chief negotiator Humbulani Tshikalange said the matter would go before the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) because no agreement had yet been made between NUM and the mine.
"We had a meeting on Friday, but we couldn't reach an agreement. The strike is still continuing," Tshikalange said.
The union says the continuous working week contravenes the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the and Mines Act. - Sapa
