Robbers posing as prospective students yesterday robbed the Durban Institute of Technology of more than R300000.
The robbers hid their guns and joined the queue of students registering at Steve Biko campus.
They then held up staff and a Fidelity guard inside the building and stormed the cashier's department while the others held up a security guard outside.
The men fled on foot .
Theincident traumatised staff and students.
Superintendent Muzi Mngomezulu said: "The suspects ran away on foot so we hope to make arrests soon."
