South Africa's Houdini of the C-Max Prison in Pretoria, Annanias Mathe, appeared again in the Pretoria magistrates' court yesterday.
The limping Mathe, 30, in his wrinkled white shirt and grey trousers, handcuffed and escorted by heavily armed policemen, looked fine.
The case was postponed to February 15 to allow the court to get a Portuguese interpreter.
Mathe faces 50 charges ranging from murder to rape. He was rearrested two weeks after his escape when he allegedly stole a car with a tracking device in Craighall Park, Johannesburg, on December 4.
During his arrest Mathe allegedly stabbed a Netstar official in the face before Mathe was shot in the leg.
