In their quest to gain a spot in the National First Division Platinum playoffs, Witbank Spurs signed Cameroonian central midfielder Noah Gabriel, 20.

Gabriel, who has represented his country's under-21 national side, joined Spurs from the University of Pretoria.

The player said: "I'm here to help Spurs gain promotion to the NFD and at the same time establish myself,"

Gabriel, whose contract expires in June, is expected to make his debut when Spurs host Dynamos at Ackerville Stadium on Saturday at 1pm.

The match will be a curtain raiser for the Premiership match between Jomo Cosmos and Moroka Swallows. Tickets for the double header will be available at the stadium only.

Meanwhile, Spurs have off-loaded five players. They are Solomon Shongwe, Amos Mnguni, Themba Nkabinde, Charles Mogashwa and Fees Mafulo, while Sandile Mdledle retired.

Mpumalanga Black Aces made their intentions of winning the Vodacom League clear when they snapped up three of the Spurs players at the end of the January window period.

Team manager George Soko said: "We have reinforced our squad by enlisting the service of Amos Mnguni [midfielder], Charles Mogashwa and Fees Mafulo [both strikers], from Spurs. There are four more players we are also expecting to register before the deadline."

The players are expected to make their debut when Aces visit FC Barcelona at KaBokweni Stadium on Saturday.

Dumisa Ngobe said they are going to Barcelona for maximum points.

"We have vowed not to drop any points," he said.
