For seven years he evaded capture as he went on a crime spree in and around Johannesburg, stealing cars and defrauding companies.
But in the early hours of yesterday morning the law finally caught up with him in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg.
The man may not be named until he has appeared in court.
Police spokesman Govindsamy Mariemuthoo said the man faced charges of robbery, theft, fraud, hijacking, vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.
He allegedly operated without accomplices in Alexandra, Sandton, Kempton Park and Germiston.
Mariemuthoo said the man will appear in court soon.
