Man stabbed to death with garden fork

A man has been stabbed to death with a garden fork at the Keyway informal settlement in Newcastle, northern KwaZulu-Natal.

The police said Dumisani Mdlalose, 33, was killed after he allegedly smashed his neighbour's window and stole his belongings.

But an elderly neighbour disputed the allegations against Mdlalose.

"He was just attacked while walking on the street. They repeatedly stabbed him. It was traumatic. We tried to save him but they continued stabbing him."

A police spokesman, Captain Shooz Magudulela, said two suspects had been charged with murder and will appear in court today.
