Mamelodi Sundowns will have to improve their performance against Royal Leopards in the CAF Champions League before they travel to Swaziland for the return leg in two weeks' time.

These were the words of coach, Gordon Igesund, who expressed disappointment at the performance of his team after their 4-2 victory over the Swazi outfit in the first round, first leg game, at Super Stadium on Saturday night.

"Despite our victory, we could have done much better on the night in terms of scoring more goals.

"We should have doubled the margin, especially after a brilliant first half show.

"At that time our opponents were at sixes and sevens but our strikers squandered inviting chances ,'' said Igesund.

"The rearguard, who gave a good account of themselves, also committed silly mistakes that enabled the visitors to bag two goals.

"Though we are enjoying a two-goal cushion, we need to iron out our mistakes ahead of the return match,'' he added.

Royals' head coach, Musa Zwane, was happy at the outcome of the match.

He promised the South Africans a tough game at home in the second round.

Sundowns started on a positive note as they literally camped in their opponents goalmouth.

But it took them 37 minutes to find the net through Jose Torrealba but minutes later Mzwandile Mamba equalised for Royals..

Sundowns' other goals came through Torrealba (53th and 79th minutes) and Surprise Moriri (75th minute) while Royal's Morris Dlamini reduced the deficit.
