Kaizer Chiefs' communications director Thebe Mohatle is not making any predictions about his side lifting the Castle Premiership title, but remains positive they will end up in the top three on the log.

The modest Mohatle believes there is still a lot to be done.

He was speaking to Sowetan after his side shot up to the top of the log after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ajax Cape Town at Loftus on Saturday night,

"The league is a marathon and we have a couple of tough games ahead of us.

"This win is a moral booster for the players. We hope to stay on course."

Ajax PRO Thabiso Mekuto said they were unfortunate to lose because they were the better side on the day.

"It was a matter of luck on Chiefs' side."

Against the run of play Chiefs broke the ice through their midfield star Siyabonga Nkosi in the 32nd minute.

That goal dampened Ajax fighting spirit, because by then, they were getting into the game and starting to harass Amakhosi's defence.
