The former speaker of the Rustenburg city council, Elizabeth Seduke, is to appear in the local magistrates' court on June 19 charged with theft.

Charges of cellphone theft against Seduke, 38, and her co-accused Godfrey Monaisa, 28, were put back on the roll yesterday.

They appeared briefly and were released on bail of R1000 each.

Charges against them were withdrawn in November after the state said it had insufficient evidence to prosecute. - Sapa
