Talent wasted on common thug

I find the media's outrage at Herchelle Gibbs' banning rather disingenuous in that they only take one side of the story as fact.

I find the media's outrage at Herchelle Gibbs' banning rather disingenuous in that they only take one side of the story as fact.

It is, however, clear that Gibbs was at no point abused or taunted by fans since his fielding position hardly ever places him on the boundary.

It is also a fact that Gibbs made abusive and racist remarks.

According to the South Africans that were ejected from the stadium it was Harris that verbally abused them after they had teased him by implying that he should be replaced by Paul Adams.

Gibbs needs to learn to take things in his stride. He has been the bad boy of our cricket for some time now.

Someone needs to tell him the captain is there to speak to officials on the team's behalf.

It is argued that Gibbs' statement was not racist. Gibbs had no way of knowing the nationality of the fans but we need to stop sugar-coating racism, because racists always assume the world is too stupid to understand their intent.

It is also possible that Gibbs is too stupid to even understand the ramifications of his action. Perhaps it is time he retires before making an even bigger fool of himself. Such talent is wasted on a common thug.
