Exactly what BSA is looking for in a person to be nominated for the Official of 2006 award in their yearly ceremony has become an absolute mystery .
The awards takes place next Friday.
BSA nominated Wally Snowball, Terence Makaluza and Lulama Mtya but left out Alfred Buqwana, Siya Vabaza and Sylvia Maphangule.
Snowball and Buqwana are two vastly experienced officials who conducted themselves like seasoned officials throughout last year.
Vabaza and Maphangule, two women, proved beyond reasonable doubt to have the guts to make brave decisions.
They took decisions which were either favourable or grievous to boxers' corner-men. Those decisions were within the rules and regulations and were also for the welfare of boxers.
BSA made a mockery of themselves by excluding Thabo Spampool, Sazi Xamlashe and Joe Chaane in that same list of nominees.
Peter Ngatane, who is an executive member of BSA's board, gave a flimsy justification that not every single official could be nominated.
BSA blundered further by leaving Tony Nyangiwe and Ishmael Khoali off the list of nominees for most promising official because the duo fit in perfectly in this category.
Andrew Smale, Deon Dwarte and Allan Matakane are the nominees.
Meanwhile, Hendrick Nengwenkulu, James Maluleka and S'Phatho Handi have been nominated for the Most Promising Promoter award.
