When murder-accused Mandla Mathebula, 22, formally applies for bail today, he won't be met by a barrage of nasty placards.
Not if Songeni Crisis Committee chairman Eric Khoza has anything to do with it.
"We are having a community meeting this afternoon at Songeni Primary school.
"We are intending to warn the community not to bring placards with insulting remarks to the court because this sends a bad message to our children," he said yesterday.
Mathebula will appear in the Mhala magistrates' court charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend.
It is alleged that he secretly buried her body at his policeman brother's home.
Advice Mashaba's body was dug up on the property and found to have been mutilated.
A post-mortem revealed that the 21-year-old's lips, breasts and eyes had been removed.
Mashaba disappeared after Mathebula allegedly attacked her for being with a new boyfriend.
Mathebula was arrested and released, only to be arrested again later when Mashaba's family suspected that he had been released because of his police connections.
When he last appeared in court some people waved placards.
