The case of a security guard who allegedly shot dead three farmworkers and injured a 12-year-old girl was postponed until February 13 yesterday.

Freddy Mfana Mogakane, 40, appeared in the White River magistrates' court.

Mogakane, who works at a farm near White River in Mpumalanga, allegedly attacked the workers on Christmas Eve. He accused them of bewitching his son, who committed suicide last year.

Police said the man entered the farm compound with a gun and ordered seven people into a room before opening fire.

Three people managed to escape through a window.
