McBride, others act worse than apartheid bosses

It is disgusting and shocking to observe the behaviour of some of our leaders.

It is disgusting and shocking to observe the behaviour of some of our leaders.

We fought apartheid, which was evil, and we promised that we would fight corruption and all other evils so that we have a clean government.

But Robert McBride and some government officials and politicians are behaving even worse than those in the apartheid government.

First McBride insulted law abiding citizens - Samwu during the Popcru congress and used his iron fists when union members tried to march because they had genuine grievances against him and his metro police.

The latest scandal involving McBride crashing his car is further proof that he is becoming a law unto himself, like some others.

The example given by President Thabo Mbeki of a drunk person who caused an accident, and asked if they knew who he was in the ANC congress in Eastern Cape, is not enough. It only demonstrates unacceptable behaviour of some cadres.

The ANC must deal with its members who hold public office because they are dragging the name of the organisation into disrepute.

How do citizens deal with lawlessness, corruption, women and children abuse, immorality and other evils when our own leaders are corrupt and dirty themselves, and they continue to befriend criminals?
