Troubled AmaZulu chairman Patrick Sokhela has promised to make changes at the struggling KwaZulu-Natal team by tomorrow.

Addressing angry supporters at Princess Magogo stadium in KwaMashu minutes after the team were humiliated 4-2 by Jomo Cosmos on Sunday afternoon, Sokhela said he would pay previous owner Pat Malabela all his money today and then make some necessary changes in the team.

Usuthu supporters told Sokhela that he must fire co-coaches Reggie Shelembe and Zipho Dlangalala and announce Ted Dumitru as the head coach. Dumitru is the technical director.

"I will make announcements after Tuesday [today] . after I have paid Malabela his money. It's not that I was not paying attention to what has been happening in the team," he said, much to the jubilation of his emotional supporters, who were baying for blood earlier on.

Malabela and Sokhela have been at loggerheads over the money Sokhela owes Malabela.

Last month, Usuthu were nearly auctioned but Sokhela quickly applied to the Durban high court to have the auction postponed. It is due to take place tomorrow if he does not pay R27million. Malabela said he does not trust Sokhela any more after he made numerous promises to pay, which he never honoured.

"He has lied to me for so long and until the money is actually in the bank, I won't trust him," said Malabela.

Malabela's lawyer Richard Bell said the auction was going ahead.
