Bidvest Wits do not have the slightest idea which Orlando Pirates team will turn out for the locked-out first round league clash at Ellis Park tomorrow afternoon.
The Buccaneers went on a Christmas shopping spree, signing three strikers - Mulondo Sikhwivhilu, Rudzani Ramudzuli, Manuel Bucuane; a winger, Bennet Chenene and a defender, Bongani Cashibe.
"We don't know what to expect," admitted Wits manager George Mogotsi.
"Pirates have a depth in quality, but we have a job to do. I can promise you it is going to be a war."
Good news for the Students is that Brazilian Marcos "Pepe" de Jesus is back from a one-match suspension.
The Brazilian precipitated the chaos that broke out at Soccer City on August 20 when he scored a brace against Kaizer Chiefs in a 2-1 win.
"Phumudzo [Manenzhe, pictured] is also looking forward to meeting his former club, so the coach [Boebie Solomons] faces a pleasant predicament," Mogotsi said.
The tough midweek fixtures could see a change at the top of the table for the first time in weeks.
Kaizer Chiefs travel to leaders Silver Stars in Phokeng and if they upset the apple cart and Wits beat Pirates, as expected, the Students will top the table.
Another intriguing clash is set for Katlehong where defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns meet Jomo Cosmos. SuperSport United host Moroka Swallows at Loftus tomorrow evening.
