The Pride Street Parade and Party, which takes place in Cape Town every year, has grown to become one of the biggest and most exciting events in South Africa.

This mother of all parades starts on February 15 and continues until February 25.

It kicks off with a Naked Chef event on the 15th. The Pride Candy Glam Ball is on February 16.

The next day, the main parade begins in the city centre and ends at the traffic department offices in Green Point.

On that day Cape Town will come to a standstill for three hours as floats, bands, costumes and a celebration of gay pride permeate the city.

Then the Carnival of Love continues with the street party, loads of stalls, a fashion parade and entertainment until dusk settles on De Waterkant Village.

The Pride Red Party at various vibrant clubs and bars will round off another fun day in a fortnight of glitz, glamour and sheer fabulousness.

Everybody can be part of the street parade by making interesting, creative and colourful floats with friends, organisations or businesses.

Dress-up with a group of friends and join in the fun and there will be lots of great prizes to be won.

The programme will continue until February 24 when a closing party, featuring the country's best deejays, will take place at a secret beach location.

On the last day of the festival there will be lots of activities. People will be able to enjoy a Pride sunset cruise, a Pride seminar series and a Pride sports day.

Tickets are now on sale. Exclusive to Pride and friends call 0822943407 and quote "Pride". For every five tickets bought, you get one free.
