Lovers of opera should brace themselves for a special treat when one of the internationally acclaimed opera-pop acts, Il Divo, lands in Mzansi next month.

The UK group will perform at a series of concerts.

Made-up of four members - David Miller, Sebastien Izambard, Urs Buhler and Carlos Marin - Il Divo kicks off its tour on February 24 at the Sun City Superbowl, North West.

On February 26, the quartet will be performing at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town. The group will wrap-up the tour with a performance at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg on March 1.

Il Divo's live DVD, which has just been released locally, has reached gold status.

Formed two years ago, the group has already been entered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the "Most multinational UK no. 1 album group".

Il Divo has sold more than 13million albums and received more than 104 platinum and gold awards worldwide.

Siempre, their third album, was released worldwide last month and is expected to take their meteoric success to a higher level.

The four have brought opera into the mainstream by taking original music and well-known tracks and giving them a refined classical twist, usually singing the lyrics in Spanish or Italian.

These blissful masterpieces showcase the breathtaking harmony of these four exceptional and very different voices, creating a unique Il Divo sound.

Tickets for the Sun City concert are from R300 to R650, Cape Town R375 and for the Coca-Cola Dome performance tickets are from R250 to R700.
