The widow of the murdered son of City Press editor Mathatha Tsedu will appear in the Krugersdorp magistrates' court today.

Mulalo Netshisaulu was arrested at the weekend in connection with the murder of her husband, Avhatakali, 31, pictured below.

Avhatakali's burnt body was found in the boot of his car on December 7 on the Old Pretoria Road near Muldersdrift.

Mulalo is reported to have had an affair with her husband's nephew, known only as Ntambodzeni. Weekend newspapers reported that she was believed to have been the mastermind behind the killing of her husband.

Five other people, including Ntambodzeni, are in custody. They were arrested in connection with the murder last month.

A Gauteng police spokesman, Director Govindsamy Mariemuthoo, refused to confirm that the arrested woman was Mulalo.

"I can't say who she is, but she was arrested on Friday evening and will appear in court on Tuesday [today]. Five other suspects, who were arrested last month, will appear for the second time in court on January 18," Mariemuthoo said.

Mariemuthoo refused to elaborate on the circumstances of the arrest of the six.
