Once again hundreds of musos descended on Florida Lake in NEAR Johannesburg yesterday to celebrate Family Day the responsible way.

African Musicians Against HIV-Aids (Amaha), in partnership with the Kwaito Nation and the SABC, hosted an HIV-Aids awareness and social responsibility concert at the lake.

The line-up featured Bongo Maffin, Stimela, Rebecca Malope, Solly Moholo, Ihash' Elimhlophe, Kabelo, Doc Shebeleza, Arthur, Teargas, Kaya, 3Sum and Bullet Proof, to mention a few.

Joyce Dube of the SABC said the public broadcaster was proud to have been part of the initiative.

She said there were more than two million Aids orphans in the country and most lived in child-headed families.

"We need to care for these children because they have nobody to support them financial and emotionally," said Dube.

Proceeds generated from the concert will be used to boost the work of HIV-Aids organisations throughout the country and other charities that deal with child-headed households.
