A Vereeniging businessman and three others were arrested for the murder of three black employees in January.

Protea Dry Cleaners owner Charl Colyn, 53, his daughter Isabel, 22, son-in-law Jacques Smit, 25, and Ruan Swanepoel, 20, were arrested after the bodies of colleagues Victoria Ndweni, Jocelyn Lesito and Constance Moeletsi were found stashed in laundry bins at the dry cleaners on January 4.

The women were tied with ropes and had been strangled.

Charges against the accused were later withdrawn. The court ruled that the state had no evidence.
