Gospel lovers in Joburg have the chance to indulge in the music of Rebecca Malope, Vuyo Mokoena, left, and Jabu Hlongwane this festive season.

The stars will be performing as part of the annual Gospel Christmas Special taking place today at the Mosaieka Theatre in Fairland.

Joining the gospel giants will be Motswako String Quartet, featuring Kutlwano Masote and Tshepo Mngoma.

Malope is one of the country's foremost gospel divas and has released more than 20 albums. and won many awards.

Mokoena, a former member of Pure Magic, is known for his mellow voice that has earned him respect among his colleagues.

Hlongwane, a founding members of Joyous Celebration, has had a long and celebrated career in music. He has collaborated with numerous artists over the years and is a renowned songwriter as well.

The artists will perform some of their well-known hits as well coming together to sing Christmas carols. The line-up for the Gospel Christmas Special is bound to give audiences a real treat.

Since Christmas is a time of giving, sharing, caring and upliftment, people attending the concert are invited to bring non-perishable food and toys that will be donated to a local charity.

Tickets are on sale at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers outlets, and range between R100, R120 and R140.
