The allegations of sexual harassment at Compact Disc Technologies, reported in Sowetan yesterday, were of "serious concern" to the group, Johncom's acting chief executive, Prakash Desai, said yesterday.
CDT is a subsidiary company of Johnnic Communications, the media arm of Johncom.
"The allegations are not consistent with human resources practices at Johncom," he said.
Consequently, the group human resources and transformation executive committee had arranged an urgent meeting with staff yesterday, and management would meet the labour brokers providing staffing to Johncom.
"Our initial inquiries show that the staff making the allegations may be employed by a supplier of casual labour," Desai said.
