American star Mya will join a horde of celebrity artists at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra, Ghana, on Friday night.
"Catwalk the World - Fashion for Food" is a worldwide campaign for Stop Child Hunger by the UN World Food Programme and Health PR.
The campaign raises funds to combat child hunger in the world generally and in Africa in particular. It also creates awareness of world hunger.
The campaign attracts designers whose garments have been paraded on world stages. The clothes have been modelled by internationally acclaimed models whose grace and elegance is the talk of the catwalk all over the world.
All the celebrities come together to focus on and to contribute to alleviating the plight of children who still go to bed on an empty stomach in a world of plenty.
Joining Mya, the creative designers and world-class models to create magic for all the glamorous people who will attend the glitzy affair, will be Nigerian comedian Basketmouth, Tic Tac, VIP and Kojo Eintry.
Mya's eponymous debut album was released in 1998 but her career origins go back to the dance floor. She then moved to the smooth urban sounds of R&B. Her album boasted an impressive list of collaborators, including Darryl Pearson, Babyface, Diane Warren, Raphael Brown, Wyclef Jean, Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott, and Sisqo and Moko from Dru Hill. The resulting CD was a song cycle about love and growing up.
Two years later, her more mature second album, Fear of Flying, which featured collaborations with Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez, Jadakiss, Wyclef Jean, and Swizz Beatz, arrived. The industry waited with breathless anticipation and was not disappointed.
Basketmouth is known for keeping his audience in stitches while maintaining a straight face.
From his repertoire, Eintry might just decide to take a stroll through the material he collaborated on with Eddy Grant.
