Duncan "King" Lechesa, Free State Stars' captain, is positive Ea lla Koto will maintain their position on top of the Mvela Golden League (MGL) log going into the Christmas break.
In fact, the former Black Leopards' linkman is adamant they will remain at the summit until the end of the season.
Lechesa was speaking on the eve of their league encounter against title challengers Winnerspark at Bethlehem's Goble Park Stadium tomorrow at 3pm.
It will not be a be a stroll in the park for Winnerspark, considering that Stars have never lost an official match at home this season.
"We want to ensure that we don't lose at home this season. We are well aware of Winnerspark's potential and are not going to take them lightly," said Lechesa yesterday.
Winnerspark coach Innocent Mayoyo conceded yesterday that it will not be easy to upset Stars in their own backyard.
"We are going there to fight tirelessly for a win, though. Stars are not invincible and my players are ready for the match," said Mayoyo, whose team is the only one with a solitary loss in the league so far this season.
This weekend's MGL matches are the last before the Christmas break and it is good to see them going into the festive recess with all the teams having played the same number of matches.
Western Province United, late starters in the National First Division, caught up with the rest of the teams when they beat Fidentia Rangers 1-0 on Wednesday.
