The driver of the car in which netball star Yvonne Phiri died has been found in a hospital in GaRankuwa, north of Pretoria, North West police said on Wednesday.
Captain Elsabe Augoustides said Boti Phetoe, 24, was tracked to the Dr George Mukhari Hospital.
The driver of the car went missing soon after the accident.
Police found only Phiri's body on the scene.
A passerby took him to hospital.
Phiri had been on her way home from the national netball team's training camp at the High Performance Centre at Pretoria University.
No charges were being investigated against Phetoe.
Phiri, 21, a member of the national team that will tour England next month, died when the car in which she was travelling overturned a kilometre from Lethabong on Saturday night.
She and Phetoe had earlier dropped off a friend, Boitumelo Masake, at her parents' home.
Phiri will be buried at the Lethabong Cemetery tomorrow after a funeral service at the Benjamin Tause-Austrian community hall at 7am.
The cortege will leave for the cemetery at 9am. - Sapa
