Scoring another success

Alex Matlala

Limpopo's self proclaimed "king of Kwasa kwasa", Steven Maloabotsheba Sefofa, has chalked up another success.

He passed grade 11 at Masopha High School in Bolobedu, east of Tzaneen, in spite of his tight schedule.

Maloabotsheba, 42, known to his fellow pupils as "Malo", will be doing grade 12 next year

His teacher, Mohale Sekgopa, yesterday said: "Malo outclassed more than 300 grade 11 pupils in Afrikaans, where he attained more than 70 percent."

The celebrity is also a taxi tycoon, a married man and a father of three. He helped his children with their homework before doing his own.

After that, he had to concentrate on his taxi business and rehearsals for his music.

But Malo always knew what he wanted in life - education.

"Hard work, dedication and commitment are always the mother of success," he said.

"I thank my wife and teachers for their encouragement."

Ndo Mangala, education department spokesman, said learning was for everyone.
