A former student at the controversy-riddled Ithuteng Trust has accused the institute's director, Mama Jackey, of assault.
"I hate Mama Jackey," said the 23-year-old woman who wished to remain anonymous.
"She destroyed my life and should pay for all the bad things she did and I have the scars to prove it."
She said that when she joined Ithuteng in 2003 she was a very troubled teenager.
"My teenage years had got the better of me. I was there to get help, not get assaulted and not even be given medical help after that."
She said her troubles began when she and a friend sneaked out of the trust's Klipspruit, Soweto, residence where they lived and lied about their whereabouts to Mama Jackey, who had found out.
"She took me to her house, got me into her garage and gave three students sjamboks to beat me until they were tired. She was standing there, looking and encouraging the boys to beat me harder.
"How can someone who has children of her own, look on with pleasure when someone's child is getting beaten up? She is just evil," she said.
She said Mama Jackey took her back to Ithuteng after the assault.
"I was swollen and bleeding. We got to Ithuteng and I was woken up in the middle of the night because we had to paint the walls so that when the American basketball players came she could brag about the good work her children do. They then donated money."
She said there are more students out there who have experienced the same thing, but they cannot do anything out of fear.
