Ramatsiyi Moholoa

Africa Sports Youth Academy's goalkeeper Ayanda Mtshali has been roped in to the Amajita squad for the Metropolitan Cosafa Under-20 Cup in Mafikeng, starting on Friday.

The new-look South African under-20 side was selected by new coach Serame Letsoaka, who took the boys through their paces at Soccer City yesterday.

"We are so happy for Ayanda who is one of the most promising goalkeepers in the country," said Harold "Jazzy Queen" Legodi, the academy's boss.

South Africa have been drawn in Group A with Namibia, Swaziland and Zimbabwe for the Cosafa Under-20 Cup.

"It will be a tough competition, but we are ready," said Letsoaka, whose technical staff include the legendary Patson Banda and Masqood Chenia.

The other competing countries are Madagascar, Mozambique, Zambia, Angola, Lesotho, Botswana, Mauritius and Malawi.

Sipho Nkumane, who has been serving as tournament director for the past three years, said the games will be played in Itsoseng, Mmabatho and Lehurutshe.

"We urge the people of North West to support the tournament."
