Mpumalanga traffic officials will continue impounding faulty buses and taxis.
Last week the Roads and Transport Department impounded nine buses and two taxis in Nelspruit.
Vukani Mnyandu, the department spokesman, said yesterday that all faulty vehicles would be removed from the roads.
The move is part of the Arrive Alive campaign that will be launched on December 9.
Mnyandu said: "The main problems were faulty brakes and loose steering rags."
An impounded City to City bus was released after the owner paid a R1500 fine. The faults must be fixed before the bus will be allowed back on the road.
