The families of victims killed in a horror truck crash in May in central Durban want justice.

The driver of the truck rammed into two taxis.

Eight passengers were killed and 58 people were injured, including several pedestrians.

Traffic police said the mangled truck would be sent to Pretoria for forensic testing.

But the families said this has not been done.

Mpendulo Sibiya, who lost his father in the accident, said they wanted a full disclosure of the investigations.

They also called on transport authorities to act against reckless truck drivers with the festive season around the corner.

Rajan Chinaboor, spokesman for the road transport inspectorate, said: "Basically, every single day there is a truck accident on our roads.

"Most accidents happen as a result of speeding and fatigue."
