Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
People are looking to Kabelo Thibedi for help.
Five days after Thibedi, 22, announced his plan to help people with their ID frustrations - troubled applicants have taken him at his word .
On Friday Young Communist League teamed up with Thibedi to help people with their ID problems.
"Since then more than 10 people have come to my house in Meadowlands. They came to me with different problems," said Thibedi.
He said one of them was a 52-year-old man.
"He said he has never had an ID. Whenever he applied for one he was told that papers from Pretoria say he has committed fraud. He was crying when he told me this," said Thibedi.
He also said a young unemployed woman had been waiting for her ID for two years.
He said he would forward these complaints to Home Affairs for them to do a follow-up.
