Cosas has threatened to discipline its Eastern Cape deputy secretary Lwandisa Dukashe after she claimed that the organisation's NEC was irregularly elected.

Dukashe last week said the newly elected president of Cosas, Kenny Motshegoa, and secretary-general Buda Tsotetsi were voted into office irregularly because they were not students.

"As the provincial executive committee we would like to distance ourselves from her statements," said provincial chairman Xolani Witbooi.

Witbooi said Dukashe will face the organisation's disciplinary committee soon.

Dukashe yesterday said she stood by her statements: "I am not a coward and I am going to stand up for what I believe it is right," she said.
