A man who beat his mistress to death two weeks after shooting his wife will be sentenced today.

On March 5 last year, Thabo Mokhele, 31, of Daveyton in Ekurhuleni, shot his wife Precious Mathabo Eland 12 times at close range outside her parent's home.

Two weeks later, Mokhele found Mabel Kobe, his mistress, inside the car of her child's father.

He hit Kobe repeatedly and she was found dead the next day from blows inflicted to her head.

Mokhele, who admitted trying to kill his wife, but denied killing the mistress, said he was angry at the women for cheating on him.

The court dismissed the claim that he did not foresee Kobe's death. He should have considered "the consequences of his actions".
