The Congress of South African Trade Unions has poured cold water over reports of a looming renewed showdown between its president Willie Madisha and general-secretary Zwelinzima Vavi.
According to weekend newspaper reports, nine affiliates were planning to push for a vote of no confidence in Madisha.
Spokesman Patrick Craven said there was "no truth in such reports". Vavi dismissed the reports as rumours and the "work of agents provocateurs".
