After former Generations star and host of the World of Winners, Wright Ngubeni, and his "gang" allegedly stabbed Sibusiso "Sean" Khasu and Kabelo Motjuoadi, they went to the hospital "to finish them off".
This was the testimony of investigating officer Inspector Luke Gemgiah in the Johannesburg magistrates' court yesterday.
"The security guard on duty at the hospital said the three accused were drunk and aggressive. He overheard them saying that they wanted the complainants so that they could kill them," Gemgiah said.
The three accused are Ngubeni, Xolile Lusapho and Andy Makhinita.
Gemgiah gave testimony that made friends and family members of the accused, including Ngubeni's sister, Sara - who was Lulama on the soapie Scandal - frown in anger and disbelief.
"After the stabbings, Khasu's girlfriend, Linda, asked the boys if they were happy with what they had done and Lusapho answered: 'Yes, and it won't stop until someone is dead'."
Yesterday Lusapho said they had gone outside to meet Khasu and two other boys, "thinking they wanted to apologise for what they did to Wright [allegedly attacking him with baseball bats]".
Gemgiah gave a different account of the incident.
"Sean Khasu said he was driving and saw Wright. He decided to speak to Wright and ask him to let bygones be bygones, but Wright went to fetch the rest of his gang."
Defence attorney Piet du Plessis said Gemgiah's testimony was based only on what the complainants had told him .
